Mi HomeGuard a low cost solution to monitor the elderly & vulnerable.

Mi HomeGuard (MiHG) is a low cost non-intrusive sensor system to monitor the elderly & vulnerable.  That can help detect problems before they become major issues. This will allow people to live longer in their own homes with minimal support from our limited NHS & Social Support Services.

MiHG uses a range of battery powered wireless sensors to monitor: PiR motion, Temperature, Power, Light lux level, Humidity,  Door open-close activity, Water ingress (flood).
The wireless sensors have a battery life of Three to Five years and have hourly status reporting.

Once installed you can use your mobile device to check MiHG (via secure encrypted tunnel) from anywhere at anytime.

Notification alerts can be setup to let you know immediately of any preset alert activity;

  • Property inside temperature has fallen to below 12 degC
  • No movement activity in kitchen by 10am
  • Water ingress (Flood) detected !
  • Front door left open for over 5mins
  • One of the sensors has a Battery level below 30%

MiHG through LENS D&G programme has recently (Jan 2025) been awarded funding to take the project development further - watch this space  !
